Toiletries

Just because you’re in the backcountry doesn’t mean you have to abandon all hygiene and “let yourself go”.  I’ve come across hikers and campers who have done so and it isn’t pretty (no pun intended).

Basic needs never go away, so when I’m backpacking I take along a few items to make the trip more enjoyable for myself, and anyone I may encounter on the trail.  You can add to this list, but I consider this a minimum number of items to take.

  1. Deodorant
  2. Toothbrush & toothpaste.
  3. Toilet Paper (bio-degradable is preferred)
  4. Some type of hand or body soap.
