Tips and Tricks
FOOT CARE—One of the quickest ways to end your outdoor adventure is to “trash” your feet early on. To prevent this, prepare before heading out. First, always break in your boots before a big hike; wear them around town, for evening walks, shopping, etc. This should have them ready for the trail. Next, learn the proper times to tighten and loosen your laces, depending on grade and terrain. Lastly, if you feel “hot spots” developing, IMMEDIATELY put moleskins or tape over them to reduce blistering.

Hello there. This is RJ from Claxton just south of Dawson Springs. Do you ever get into the Pennyrile State Park for any hiking? I heard you are into golf, they have a great coarse there too.
Hello RJ! I've driven by the Pennyrile State Park several times on my way to other destinations, but have never actually stopped by, need to rethink that one I guess. As for the golf thing, only the miniature version, which I do enjoy once in a while.

I like the latest photo posted of American Fork in Utah. Good to get a picture out west again as well. My question is; are those mountains part of the Rocky Mountains?
Glad you approve of the new photo, I thought it was pretty cool too. In answer to the question on whether or not this was taken in the Rockies, sort of. American Fork is located in the Wasatch Range, which is the western-most edge of the Rocky Mountains in Utah.

Hey Chet, Bobby Clearfield again. Can you be more specific on where in New England that pictures was taken? It is a pretty big area and I just wanted to know
I'm not sure where this photo was taken as my wife actually shot this one. She thinks it was in New Hampshire, but she's not 100% sure about it.

Have you ever tried wearing a Ghillies suit for shooting wildlife?
I don't hunt wildlife, so the answer is "no" on any outdoor clothing related to this subject.

Hey again Chester. Bobby Clearfield here just writing in to ask if you are going to post pics more often than you have been. Really enjoyed the one of the storm over the Utah desert.
Welcome back to WT, been a while since you checked in. Glad you liked the storm photo, was very cool to see, even though it snowed in most of the trails I'd been planning to hike. As for how often I'll be posting new images, just when I get a chance to. Pretty busy on other projects right now.

I like your winter colors on the site. Are you going to begin posting winter pics too? Just comming from a fan fond of the site.
Glad you like the seasonal color scheme change. You can thank my outstanding Webmistress (her term, not mine) for the cool change. I try to mix in images that are relevant to the current season, so yes I'll be posting winter shots in the near future.

Is it still Fall in Kentucky?
Technically it is still "Fall" at least until December 21st (The Winter Solstice). However, if you're asking about the Fall colors, they're now gone. Due to plenty of rainfall and warmer than usual temperatures late in the season however, the colors did hang on about a month longer than usual.

The wife and I are considering taking a vacation to Elizabethtown Kentucky. I think that is in your neck of the woods if I am not mistaken. Do you have any recomendations while were there? We would like to goto Freeman Lake for sure. Just wondering if you could help out. Thank you
Interesting choice of vacation destinations, though not a bad one. Elizabethtown (E-town) is known as "Hub City" and is the meeting place of several major highways (I-65, The Western Kentucky Parkway and the Bluegrass Parkway). Freeman Lake is a small and very popular recreational area where the locals come to canoe, picnic, hold family get-togethers and attend outdoor concerts. While visiting E-town, make sure to spend time at some nearby world-famous attractions such as Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historic Site, Mammoth Cave National Park and My Old Kentucky Home, all of which are an easy drive away.

What happened to the Wide Wide World? Did you run out of Wide Wide pictures? Really like your latest picture of the road in Kentucky.
Nothing has happened to The Wide, Wide World, just haven't posted anything in a while. Though I don't have unlimited panoramas to work with, I still have some nice ones, including the one I just loaded for you, enjoy! I'm happy that you liked the Kentucky road too.

Are you going to be hiking the Pine Mountain trail above Whitesburg on Jan 1? I heard rumor you might be there from Bobby at the Shell station.
Wish I could, but as of right now I don't have any hikes planned where I have to travel away from home. For the record though, any hike with the the name Mountain in it sounds like a good time.
